5 Things You Absolutely Must Know to Earn Money Easily With Affiliate Schemes
If you have never worked with affiliate schemes before, you are probably feeling pretty daunted! But… don’t worry. Everyone, even the so-called affiliate gurus, were all beginners at some point. The key is to not be afraid, and to get started so you can begin the learning process. To help you earn money easily in your new venture, here are five key principles to help you lay the foundations.
1. Pay per Click: PPC is terribly important in affiliate marketing, so we need to get comfortable with PPC or “Pay per Click” marketing.
Advertisers pay Google anywhere from a few cents to around $50.00 for the privilege of displaying on the the right hand side of Google’s search results pages.
Your Google Adwords account includes a keyword tool. Open it up and play with it a bit. See how it works, and get used to the layout.
In particular, learn to pay close attention to the “Global Monthly Search Volume” which Google gives you for every keyword you research. Low volume keywords are just the ticket– they are the signposts to where you will be able to show your affiliate ads for minimum cost.
2. Start off with the actual affiliate website. Because you are a beginner, you should use the affiliate site given to you by the vendor.
There are a couple of reasons for doing this. The guy who created the affiliate scheme in the first place will have taken the trouble to build a good sales page– after all they want to earn money easily and with minimal hassle, don’t they?– so take advantage of that fact.
As a newbie, give yourself a break. Keep to a minimum the number of new tasks to master.
3. Advertise widely, advertise cheaply. There are loads of places to put up small ads with links to your affiliate sales page— try Craigslist or US Small Ads. There can produce good, targeted traffic— the lifeblood of your business.
4. Build your list. After you have gained some experience, and have seen what works for you and what does not, try building your own simple website. By all means, have links here to your affiliate products, but more importantly, have a sign up box for folks to get your email newsletter. (You can outsource a lot if this, by the way.)
Your subscriber list is a very important and valuable piece of internet property. Conventional affiliate marketing allows you one sale per person; email marketing allows you multiple sales per person, month after month.
4. Viral reports. Giving away viral reports on your site is a time tested way of helping you build your subscriber list. Offer folks a free report and give them permission to just give it away for you– making sure that each page of each report has a link to your subscriber sign up page!
5. Write and publish great articles. Let me repeat that: Write and publish great articles! A lot of the articles I see on the net are plain rubbish, I am sorry to say– but that creates an opportunity if you really like to write.
I’m no great writer; you may have spotted a ton of errors in this article! But by putting a little of yourself in what you write, you can connect with your audience and prompt them to action.
Of course, at the bottom of all your articles… a link to your site!
(Word of warning— All article directories have restrictions on what types of links are acceptable within the body and resource box of your article. Respect their rules so your articles don’t get rejected, or worse, you find yourself banned from a good directory.)
To summarize: Success comes to those who are prepared to make mistakes! Affiliate schemes are new to you, so be ready for a learning process. You will not make money easily overnight, but you will eventually, and perhaps quite quickly, if you are prepared to give yourself a break and take things step by step. Affiliate marketing is a very forgiving business; our errors usually don’t cost us too much, except a little time and some hurt pride!
